GEI Staff Stories - Affiliates Team

2020 has been an extraordinary year for the entire world. A year that tested the patience, grit and resilience of humankind to adapt to change. While the world around was transforming at a breakneck speed, we – the Affiliates Team at GEI were also adapting to the new developments each passing day to achieve unparalleled growth for all our brands.

Needless to mention, there were a slew of operational and strategic challenges to address within a short span of time. Add to that the mental and emotional toll the pandemic brought along on personal level for team members.  Despite all of it, we performed well under extraordinary circumstances and registered an unbelievable YoY growth of 622% in revenue for University of Canada West (UCW) and an overall YoY growth of 37.85% for affiliate channel.

From handling terminal illnesses of family members at home to coping with COVID and bouncing back at work with greater zeal – our team members’ indomitable spirit to deliver excellence at work has been commendable. One of the primary reasons for this staunch dedication from the employees in general is the trust that the management at GEI extends to all its teams.

"I have been working with GEI for more than 3 years now. I have seen the company grow not just in terms of portfolio but also, in terms of the people-first culture that they nurture within the organization. The best part about GEI’s culture is that everyone is offered vital support and motivation to grow. Senior management’s open-door-policy puts everyone at ease to share their thoughts and concerns freely." Satyabhrata Patnaik, Assistant Manager, Affiliate Team

Additionally, the opportunity to learn new skills every day encourages employees to look forward to the time at work. In a client-facing profile like ours where each of us has to be sure about the way we communicate and present ourselves, initiatives like The Orator’s Club at GEI help us to practice and hone our communication skills as a fun activity. Also, the freedom to explore different strategies and try new approaches to achieve targets ensures continuous learning while keeping the work interesting.

"I can bank upon the knowledge that I gain while interacting with senior management executives and working on their ideas first-hand. This quality exposure has boosted my confidence immensely and has helped me improve on a personal level as well. It is hard to find companies like GEI that keenly focus on employees’ all round development." - Swapna Munjulluri, Specialist, Affiliate Team

Past year was all about learning, unlearning and re-learning to align with the new normal and usher in a fresh way of working. We strive to capitalize on that knowledge and be better equipped at tackling unique work challenges in 2021.

Here’s to progressing onwards and upwards, always.

Cheers!
